Hiking Summer Camps
There are many ways in which outdoor adventure – lovers can spend their time in order to fulfill their thirst for adventure. Hiking is just one of them. To enjoy hiking to its maximum limit, kids can enroll into hiking summer camps. These camps provide a great and challenging experience for the campers along with providing a great setting for meeting new people and making new friends. Although it is an adventurous sport, first – timers can join these camps too.




SUMMER CAMP NEWS:
Pitching/Catching/Fielding - Pine Bluff, AR (Taylor Field) - 16th Avenue and Florida Street,, Pine Bluff, AR
PRO-DAY Baseball Pitching/Catching/Fielding Camp will be held on Saturday, February 27th at Historical Taylor Field. The Camp will be held from 9 am - 12 noon for ages 8-15 years of age. Incase of inclement weather, the clinic will be moved into the Indoor Facility at the Stadium. Participants will get to hear instruction on proper pitching/camping/fielding techniques and to help improve ones skills from a staff that has been involved in professional baseball on all levels. Since 1989, PRO-DAY Baseball has been teaching young players the finer points of the game, have sent hundreds of players into professional baseball, along with hundreds and hundreds of others have went on to receive baseball scholarships to colleges/universities across the country. Players need to register in advance, the camp is "Limited". Proceeds will benefit the John Gross Memorial Scholarship, which is given to a high school senior each year that plans to go off to college to play baseball and continue their education. 888-224-6150


Geography of Warren County, KY

According to the 2000 census, the county has a total area of 547.69 square miles , of which 545.21 square miles is land and 2.48 square miles is water. Geographic features The land in the south and southwest of the county is predominantly flat. In the western side of the county the land is hilly with steep ridges and rocky and cliff-ridden near Gasper River. In the east the land is rolling near Drakes Creek. In the north the land is possibly the most rugged since it lies between Green River and Barren River with very tall ridges near Riverside and Richardsville. The major drainage in Warren county is Barren River which flows through Bowling Green and is surrounded by steep ridges in some areas. There are several sizable hills in Bowling Green proper. Much culture has arisen around Bowling Green's hills with an old reservoir, hospital and civil war fort on one, much of Western Kentucky Universities campus on another, Hobson Grove, a historic Italian Renaissance style civil war era plantation estate on another and yet another civil war fort on another. The Green River forms the northern boundary of the county. Those tributaries of the Green River that flow through Warren County are the Barren and Gasper rivers, Drake's and Jennings creeks and Bay's Fork . Shanty Hollow Lake is in the northwest corner of the county. The flat elevated areas in the west and the flatland in the south and southwest have soil that is fertile and supports tobacco , hay , corn and soybean crop production. The rest of the land is predominantly clay soil and is rocky and not very suitable for agriculture and many occupants use it for livestock, horses and hunting. Major highways Interstate 65 William H.
