SUMMER CAMP NEWS:
Swim Team - Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center - 2700 Childrens Way, Nashville, TN
Welcome to the Vanderbilt Recreational and Wellness Center Acorn Swim Team. We hope to have you as part of the team this summer and look forward to a fun-filled, learning & competitive season. The goal of the swim team is to offer all young people around Nashville from ages 4 - 18 years of age the opportunity to learn new and improve existing swimming skills; enhance community spirit by meeting and socializing with other Vanderbilt children; teach and encourage sportsmanship; and create a fun-filled yet competitive summer swim experience for each participant and their family. Those young people who are 4-18 years of age before June 1st are eligible to swim. Children 7 and up must be able to swim one length of a 25 meter pool in any fashion. (NOTE: Any swimmer will be allowed to hold onto the side of pool or lane line floats; however, swimmers will not be allowed to pull themselves forward or touch the bottom of the pool.) Children ages 4-6 must be able to swim 15 yards unassisted and 25 yards unassisted by the 3 week of swimming. Registration fees primarily cover the coaches salaries with fund-raising providing most of the balance of the operational costs for a given swim season. Our goal is to be financially responsible. Please note that the above amount does not include the cost of the team swimsuit or swim cap, which will be purchased... 615-322-7946
