Taverns & Ordinaries - Historic London Town and Gardens - 839 Londontown Rd., Edgewater, MD
Taverns, called ordinaries in colonial Maryland, were more than just a place to get a drink. The ordinaries of London Town offered a place to sleep for weary travelers, stables and feed for horses, a community gathering place, a space for tradesmen to peddle their craft, and the best spot to get a hot meal. Historic London Town and Gardens invites you to step through the doors of our original William Brown House and tavern to experience the vibrant world of colonial taverns. Play games of chance and explore tavern culture at our Taverns & Ordinaries Homes School Program. 410-222-1919 x212
